We are looking for a post-doc to join our international collaborative team established at the INMED (Marseille) and the University of Geneva.

Context: by combining behavioral testing, calcium imaging and multisite electrophysiological recordings in epileptic mice with retrograde viruses, our team investigates the pathological role of long-distance inhibitory neurons in the large-scale alterations associated with temporal lobe epilepsy, then evaluate the potential benefits of their chemo- or optogenetic manipulation at the therapeutic level.

Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) and strong background in the physiology of inhibitory neurons, ideally with hands-on experience in animal surgery and experimentation, in vivo calcium imaging and/or data analysis using Matlab or Python.

We are looking for a well-organized, motivated, inquisitive, and talented teamwork person with good communication skills and an acute sense of ethics.

The candidate must be fluent in English. We give preference to top-level candidates who have obtained their last degree outside Aix-Marseille Université. Based on the applications received, we will conduct interviews by videoconference.

The salary will be fully funded for 2 years by an A*Midex grant. All necessary equipment is available in the host structure. INMED is an architectural gem located on the outskirts of the bustling city of Marseille, right in the middle of the magnificent Parc National des Calanques.
