The “Neural Determinants of Spatial Cognition lab” led by Jérôme Epsztein is seeking a postdoctoral researcher (3 years position) to work on the cellular/circuit mechanisms of spatial coding and memory. The project will notably benefit from state-of-the-art in vivo voltage imaging techniques available through the CircuitPhotonics platform at INMED.

We are looking for independent and highly motivated candidates with a background in in vivo electrophysiology/imaging in rodents or data analysis/computer science.

The overall goal of the project is to use newly developed techniques for long-term in vivo imaging of neuronal membrane potential available at the CircuitPhotonics platform at INMED (https://circuitphotonics.squarespace.com/ led by Rosa Cossart), coupled with virtual navigation for head-fixed rodents in the Epsztein lab (Bourboulou et al., 2019), to address fundamental questions about the cellular determinants of place cell activation.

The successful candidate will contribute to experimental design and perform voltage imaging experiments in head-fixed mice navigating in a VR environment. Excellent statistical and computational modelling skills are a plus.
