Voluntary control of breathing: discovering a new neural network
The Impact Santé – France 2030 prize endows Clément Menuet with €150,000
The ‘Voluntary control of breathing: diving into apnoea’ exploration project aims to identify the neurons involved in the voluntary control of breathing, the only vital physiological function that can be voluntarily controlled. By focusing on the neuronal networks involved in voluntary apnoea, the project aims to identify potential new therapeutic targets for the treatment of respiratory and/or neurological disorders.
