Experiments and debates for a better understanding of science

The transmission of scientific knowledge and the training to scientific practices is essential for INMED, even beyond the doors of the institute. This is why the association Tous Chercheurs (everyone’s a researcher in French) has found its place on the Institute’s premises.

Tous Chercheurs works at bringing together schoolchildren and researchers, patients and researchers, citizens and researchers… Led by a collective of scientists, its objective is to educate and involve people in research so they understand better the making of science. The public is placed in the position of the researcher, working as teams on a project or a problem, under the direction of tutors (the Tous Chercheurs team).
Everyone acquires the necessary keys for understanding scientific challenges and discoveries, in order to be active and participate to nowadays debates.

The association’s 5 actions are:

  • Education in research, for high school and college classes.
  • Health education for members of patients’ associations – better understanding one’s disease in order to fight it better
  • Science and Society DebatesControversations, to train high school students and the general public to argumentation and critical debates on science.
  • Training
  • Science of Education

Tous Chercheurs is also a national network of open research laboratories, organized around 5 different themes. To find out more: www.touschercheurs.fr
